We’re Headed to The International Electrotechnical Commission Plenary in Berlin, Germany.

In November 2025, QOSI will participate in the IEC Plenary in Berlin. Our team is working to ensure environmental protections are written into the foundational standards that will shape global ocean connectivity.

Our team will be presenting and conducting a workshop at this conference, educating international committee voting members of every country on the importance of safe underwater network specifications, such that only standards that are safe for marine life and human ocean users are approved and published (used to guide the industry that will manufacture and install underwater networks)

Our environmental group, JWG 32, has initiated an International Standards Project that gives us the opportunity to actually write the technical specifications for the underwater “Smart Ocean” network itself. Now that we are in this position, we will ensure a network that is safe for all marine life and human swimmers and divers. Obtaining the final approval to design a fully safe network will depend on our presence at this conference.

Please visit the “Donate” page to support our efforts to make the “Smart Ocean” network safe for all.

Your donation enables the Quiet Ocean Standards Initiative team to collect the crucial environmental impact research and write the technical report that will guide the planning committees to choose technical standards that prevent our oceans from being saturated worldwide with constant, loud, shrill noise.
